Norman F. C. Kent, 83, of New Castle, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth.
He was born in Portsmouth, on October 3, 1928, the son of the late Norman F. and Mildred (Chick) Kent.
Norman was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1946, attended Rutgers School of Banking and Bentley College in Boston.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, he was President and CEO of First National Bank of Portsmouth and had served on the Board at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
Norman was a member and held the office of Master Councilor in the Portsmouth Order of DeMolay; was a member of St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 56 F&AM of Portsmouth; Federal Fire Society; Mechanic Fire Society; and the Island Club of New Castle.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann (Pickering) Kent; two sons, Dana Kent of Dunedin, FL and Daryl Kent and his wife Susan of Rye, NH; two granddaughters, Cody and Greta Kent of Rye; brothers, Paul Kent of Newington and Larry Kent of Eliot, ME; a sister, Virginia Earl of Portsmouth; several nieces and nephews.
