Portsmouth NH - Ethel L. "Tarr" Bosen, 92, of Portsmouth, NH died peacefully on Friday December 14, 2012 at Woodbriar Rehabilitation in Wilmington, MA.

Ethel, daughter of the late Louis and Christine Lampropoulos, was born on March 8, 1920 in Ipswich, MA. She was raised in Ipswich and graduated from Ipswich schools. She married Andrew T. Bosen in 1942 and moved to Portsmouth NH where she has resided ever since. She was happily married for 62 years.

Ethel was employed at the Public Service Company of NH for many years as a bookkeeper and salesperson. She is a member of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church also in Portsmouth, NH. She preferred to go by the nickname 'Tarr" rather than Ethel. Shopping for jewelry and clothes was always a very special time for her. She enjoyed cooking, especially making Greek pastry as well. Tarr always kept a super clean house. People would tease her about doing the "white glove" test because she was so meticulous. She loved spending time with her friends and her great grandchildren.

Tarr will be deeply missed by her daughter Colleen and her son-in-law Ted Georgian of Andover, MA, her grandchildren, Andrea Georgian of Topsham, ME and Alison and husband Ryan Shanahan of Amesbury, MA and her six great grandchildren, Emma, Tess, Peter, and Timothy Hahesy and Bayleigh and Hope Shanahan. Tarr will also be missed by her nieces Tina and husband Richard Samaha of Hingham, MA , Christine and husband Fred Fitzpatrick of Groton, MA, Margaret and husband David Erdman of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and nephews Arthur and wife Patti Gonis of Jupiter, Florida and Louis and wife Apple Lampson of Atlanta, GA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 4-7PM with a wake service at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth, NH. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 40 Andrew Jarvis Drive, Portsmouth, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 40 Andrew Jarvis Drive, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
