Herbert A Pineo, age 93, of the NH Veterans Home in Tilton died Feb 1, 2013 at the Franklin Hospital.

Born, February 26, 1919, in Auburn, Maine, the son of Herbert A. and Helen M (Whitney) Pineo, Sr.

After attending Dover Schools he was drafted into the Armed Forces. He served during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge, also served in England and France. He was Past Commander of the DAV.

He is survived by his sister Helen F. (Pineo) and husband Joseph E. Gingras of Dover and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Phyllis Smith, sisters, Viola Krupski, Mabel Hardy, Elizabeth Foss and a brother, Harold L Pineo.

Services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 11:00AM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rte 3, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NH Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276-0229.
